Blackberry and Yoghurt Smoothie

Delicious, filling and packed with nutrients, this drink makes an ideal breakfast for people wanting to lose weight.

Blackberries are an excellent source of fibre because they contain the soluble fibre pectin, as well as other small seeds — each blackberry is made up of a cluster of tiny fruits housing a seed. Research links consumption of low-fat, calcium-rich dairy products, such as yogurt, to lower body-fat ratios.  Studies show that eating almonds increases weight loss, because their high monounsaturated fat content helps the body to burn fat.


Ingredients

  • 25 blackberries

  • 450m1/16floz/13/4 cups natural bio-yogurt

  • a bunch of fresh blackberrys for garnishing or flaked almonds.

    • Method

      Whim the berries and yogurt together in a blender until smooth. For decoration add a couple of fresh blackberrys or flaked alomnds and serve.
