Quality time, ten minute tips to squeeze in your day!

Between juggling full-time jobs and running a household, life is so hectic.  Generally speaking stress is becoming the norm in most households and we think it’s hard to fit in good times.

Here are some quality time, ten minute tips to squeeze into your day! …

“Check In” and connect with each other about what is happening each day.
On the way to and from school or work is an opportunity to create pleasant times.
Just before bedtime debrief the day and recall what was good as well.
Share at least one mealtime together and chat.

Be Mindful
Go sit under the stars; take in a sunrise or sunset.
Just sit, reflect, and be together.
Close your eyes and listen to the many sounds of nature.
Ask the question “How can we be better listeners?” with loved ones, colleagues and friends.

Boost Your Brain Power.
Do crosswords or play Sudoku.
Watch a documentary.
Spend 10 minutes online, exploring a subject you want to learn more about.
Talk with others about ideas or issues that stimulate your brain.
Read anything and everything from newspaper, blogs, reports, books or magazines.

Boost Your Body Power.
Try one of these 10 minute activities to rejuvenate the body: tai chi, yoga, jogging or walking on the spot or outdoors, stretch, take a power nap, get a massage, eat well, dance and breathe deeply.

Recall Favourite Times
Take turns sharing and remembering wonderful memories.
These might include family events, social gatherings, books, movies, bands, foods, hobbies or holiday traditions. You’ll probably be surprised at some of the answers that emerge and the vibes that zap between your body and your mind do us the world of good!

Have A Special Meal Together.
Whether it is a 10 minute snack or you set the table with nice crockery and light candles. Enjoy your special meal and talk about what makes your relationship or family special.

Create Sacred Time.
Extend the concept of nap time for little ones to quiet time for everyone in the house.Each person to disburse into separate rooms to read, work quietly on puzzles, write, meditate, draw or nap. No noise, no talking, no television or music – simply being quiet with oneself.
Start with 10 minutes or go for 1 hour. This simple practice is a great way to provide us with nourishing solitude and at the same time recharge the batteries and balance out internal energy.

Walk around the block together.
If you are near a park, or the beach better still.

Do chores together.
Any chores like cleaning the yard, the car or the dishes. It may not sound like quality time, but it can be.Deliberately make a transition time from work or school to home. Ensure that it is time spent that is fun and relaxing!
